1796 Draped Bust Half Dime, VF30
    V-1, LM-1, LIKERTY Variety

1796 H10C VF30 NGC. V-1, LM-1, R.3. The date touches Liberty's curls and LI are close at the base to define this variety. Commonly described as the LIKERTY variety, the letter B is defective at the top and bottom and weakened further by die lapping -- although both the LM-1 and LM-2 varieties have a defective B to one extent or another. This example is pleasantly toned in silver-gray with golden and rose accents. The eagle retains surprising detail, while the obverse is more typically worn for the assigned grade. Census: 4 in 30, 59 finer (1/14).
