    Description

    1797 V-1, LM-4 Half Dime, XF40
    Rare 13 Stars Variant

1797 H10C 13 Stars, V-1, LM-4, R.5, XF40 PCGS. A rare variety that is seldom seen in any grade and offered even less frequently, the V-1 or LM-4 is the sole use of the 1797 13 Stars obverse and forms its own Guide Book variety, ratcheting up collector demand for examples in all grades. The obverse of this quality XF40 representative is especially well-defined, though the center of the eagle's breast and left (facing) wing are a touch soft on the reverse. The high points of each side are silver-gray with russet toning surrounding the devices and within the recesses, the russet edged in gold.
