Satiny 1797 15 Stars Half Dime
    V-2, LM-1, MS64

1797 H10C 15 Stars MS64 PCGS. V-2, LM-1, R.3. The three obverses and three reverses for the year were combined to make four die marriages, with only the 16 Stars obverse sharing two different reverses. Each of the three obverses--13 Stars, 15 Stars, 16 Stars--is a popular Guide Book type. On the reverse of this 15 Stars near-Gem, an outer berry appears beneath NI in UNITED. Bright, satiny mint luster covers both sides, each displaying a light, even layer of golden toning. The strike is typically soft in the centers, especially on the eagle's breast. The only marks of any note are in the center obverse. Certified in a green-label holder, this piece is among only four 15 Stars examples certified at PCGS, with one each in MS66 and MS67 finer (9/10). A super type coin.(Registry values: P6) (NGC ID# 22ZZ, PCGS# 4258)
