    1800 V-1, LM-1 Half Dime, MS63+
    LIBERTY Obverse

    1800 H10C MS63+ PCGS. V-1, LM-1, R.3. The obverse die has a normally formed R in LIBERTY on this Select Mint State specimen. Three obverse dies, one with a broken R, and two reverse dies were used to coin four varieties of 1800 half dimes. V-1 and V-2 are available in all grades including Mint State, while V-3 and V-4 are rare in any grade, with less than a dozen known of each.
    Both sides of this specimen exhibit satin mint luster with a few trivial hairlines and other minor marks. The obverse is vivid gold with splashes of sky-blue toning, while the reverse is light gray with delicate iridescent overtones. A splendid specimen representing the first year of issue for the Heraldic Eagle design on half dimes. Population: 19 in 63 (3 in 63+), 18 finer (4/12).(Registry values: P5) (NGC ID# 2326, PCGS# 4264)
