    Brilliant 1800 Half Dime, V-1, LM-1
    Sharply Struck Near-Gem

    1800 H10C MS64 PCGS. CAC. V-1, LM-1, R.3. A splendid Choice Mint State example, housed in an older green label holder, with fully lustrous surfaces and brilliant mint frost. This piece boasts brilliant surfaces with exceptional satiny luster, and the strike is uniformly sharp except for on the breast feathers.. While a few finer examples of the date and the variety still exist, it is easily within the top 10 of the variety.
    The obverse is an early die state, showing no evidence of the rim break that eventually appears within the denticles below the date, although heavy clash marks are visible around the date and below the bust. Lighter clash marks are also visible in the right obverse field and on the reverse. A thin bisecting die crack is visible on the reverse from the M through the shield to the I of UNITED. Population: 12 in 64, 6 finer (11/11).(Registry values: P5) (NGC ID# 2326, PCGS# 4264)
