    1803 Half Dime, AU Details
    V-2, LM-3, Large 8

1803 H10C Large 8, V-2, LM-3, R.3 -- Damage -- PCGS Genuine. AU Details. A disconnected, free-floating arrowhead above the two tallest arrows and an olive leaf joined to the diagonal of the final A in AMERICA identify the LM-3 variety. This example is cited for Damage by PCGS, perhaps in reference to a dished surface at the field stars and a corresponding bulge at Liberty's neck and bustline on the obverse. Three or four short scrapes among the obverse stars and a dig on the neck are noted. Pleasing golden-gray patina remains, with devices that are well-defined except at the left-side obverse border dentils. (NGC ID# 2329, Variety PCGS# 38609, Base PCGS# 4269)
