Description
1794 Flowing Hair Half Dollar, VF30
Popular First-Year Issue, O-101a, T-7
1794 50C O-101a, T-7, High R.3, VF30 PCGS. Beautiful patina
in shades of rose-gray, pale blue, and gold will make this
potential acquisition an instant favorite among early Bust half
enthusiasts. This relatively available variety is attributed by
star 1 piercing the lowest curl at midpoint, the Y distant from the
star, and the leaf pair on the reverse ending between O and F. The
later O-101a die state is characterized by the die crack meandering
upward from that same leaf pair through F to the rim, and the
topmost single leaf showing a branching crack to the last S in
STATES. The eye appeal on this first-year half dollar is
exceptional, and it will no doubt find a welcome home in a fine
collection of early half dollars. Population (for the variety): 2
in 30, 4 finer (5/21).Ex: Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 9/2016), lot 5485.
