    Tompkins Die State 1/1. Steel-gray borders encompass slate interiors with olive-gray undertones on this deeply toned O-106 (T-4) example. All legends and stars are distinct, and the wings and tail display partial feather detail. The obverse has a few thin lines near stars 5 and 9, and the microgranular reverse exhibits minor Mint-made adjustment marks near the lower border. An appealing example of this rare first-year die pairing.
