Description
1795 Half Dollar, Fine 12
Nice O-110, T-21 Flowing Hair
1795 50C 2 Leaves, O-110, T-21, R.3, Fine 12 PCGS. Tompkins
Die Stage 2/3. This is a relatively early die stage of
Overton-110/Tompkins-21, before the large obverse die breaks occur
on O-110a. Natural gray toning, varying from slightly darker hues
within the lettering to medium gray in the fields, and then lighter
on the devices for a very attractive circulated appearance. Nicely
balanced strike with just a touch of weakness at the lower portion
of the date, typical for this die marriage. Good detail remaining
on the hair curls of the portrait, making this a great
mid-circulated type coin.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24E7, Variety PCGS# 39228, Base PCGS# 6052, Greysheet# 194051)
