1795 Flowing Hair Half Dollar, VF30
Excellent Type Coin, O-119, T-1
1795 50C Two Leaves, O-119, T-1, R.3, VF30 NGC. Tompkins Die
Stage 2/1. A distinctive die lump above star 15 and a heavy die
scratch angles between the right (facing) wingtip and the E in
AMERICA to confirm the Overton-119 (Tompkins-1) variety. Later die
stages show die clashing and an enlarged die lump above the final
star. This is a lightly toned silver-gray example, with scattered
tiny marks and abrasions when viewed under a loupe. Pleasing blue
accents around the margins add eye appeal.Ex: Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 9/2023), lot 3288.
