Description

XF 1801 Half Dollar, O-101
Much Better Date

1801 50C XF40 NGC. O-101, R.3. A very scarce Draped Bust date with only two known die marriages, since bullion depositors preferred the dollar denomination. The present problem-free representative is mostly cream-gray but has lavender high points. Luster emerges from the lettering, hair, and obverse stars. Abrasions are minor for the grade, though we note a pair of hair-thin marks near the profile. A good strike aside from softness on the star trio above the eagle's head.(Registry values: N2998)
