Description

1805/4 O-102, T-5 Half Dollar, XF40
Superlative 'Gray Dirt' Survivor

1805/4 50C O-102, T-5, R.3, XF40 PCGS. Tompkins Die State 1/3. Deep lavender-gray and golden-brown toning provides a wonderful "gray dirt" appearance to this moderately circulated and minimally marked half dollar. The underdigit 4 is obvious, since its base, stand, crosslet, and left corner are all partially present. A tiny lamination near the arrows is of mint origin, and a small obverse spot at 5 o'clock provides an identifier.
