Description

1806/5 50C --Countermarked--ANACS. VF Details, Net VG8. O-103, R.2. This is one of the coolest countermarks we have ever seen. A pair of scissors is stamped vertically into the center of the obverse. We cannot find this listed in Brunk, but wonder if it could have been for a barber as the scissors are positioned over Liberty's hair. Medium gray toning.
