Description
1806 50C Pointed 6, No Stem--Improperly Cleaned--NCS. VF Details. O-109, R.1. This variety has a pointed 6 in the date, and there is no stem through the eagle's right (facing) claw. Dappled greenish-gray and red patina races over the fields, while a more uniform grayish-red resides on the central motifs. Relatively strong detail is noted on the design elements. The cleaning leaves what appears to be semi-prooflike fields that establish noticeable contrast with the devices.Ex: Capitol Coin and Stamps (7/1998).
