Description

1806 O-124 Half Dollar
E over A in STATES

1806 50C Pointed 6, Stem Genuine PCGS. O-124, R.6. The PCGS number ending in .98 suggests Damage as the reason, or perhaps one of the reasons, that PCGS deemed this coin not gradable. In our opinion, this coin has the details of a XF specimen that has surface damage and cleaning.
The rare E over A in STATES variety with bold design elements. Myriad tiny dents and minor scrapes on each side are barely objectionable on this example. Both sides show second-generation violet, blue, and gold toning. Despite the problems, this example approaches finest known for the rare variety.
