1807 Draped Bust Half Dollar, AU55
Final Year of Type, O-105, T-4

1807 50C Draped Bust, O-105, T-4, R.1, AU55 NGC. Tompkins Die Stage 3/3. Extensive die cracks on both the obverse and reverse, but the reverse die chip between E and D in UNITED has not yet occurred. Silver-gray toning that transitions to russet and blue towards the peripheries for an attractive appearance. A few marks on the obverse in the neck area are consistent with the grade. Remaining luster is found within protected areas. The strike is good for an 1807 half dollar with typical star and hair curl softness, but with sharp drapery lines, wing feathers and shield lines.
