Description

1807 O-108, T-1 Half Dollar, MS63
Gorgeous Condition Census Example

1807 50C Draped Bust, O-108, T-1, Low R.4, MS63 PCGS. Tompkins Die State 3/3. Radiant silver surfaces contain hints of champagne and russet. Abrasions are nowhere to be found, and weakness is light on the upper hair curls, and flattens the eagle's head as well as the surrounding ring of stars. The O-108, T-1 is of moderate rarity for the year: it is not in the ultra common class with O-105, T-4 or O-110, T-3, but it is also not rare like O-104, T-9 or extremely rare like O-115, T-10. The present offering is also within the condition census, listed by Tompkins as 65, 65, 64, 63, 61, 58. Therefore, regardless of whether or not this example is the 63 listed in the census or a new example, it is still solidly within the top 6 examples of this die marriage.
