First Year Issue
1794 50C O-101a, T-7, R.3, Fine15 NGC. Tompkins Die Stage
1/3. The first year of issue for United States Mint half dollars is
nicely represented by this splendid Flowing Hair example. Variety
O-101a, T-7 is attributed by star 15 touching below the point of
the bust, the reverse has 10 berries on the left side and 11
berries on the right. Deep smokey-gray patina becomes lighter on
Miss Liberty. Adjustment marks are observed on the reverse, which
are common on Flowing Hair half dollars. Good remaining detail on
