Description

1801 O-101 Half Dollar, VF30
Well-Defined and Uniformly Toned

1801 50C O-101, T-2, R.3, VF30 PCGS. This variety famously shows large die lumps around the reverse arrows, the UN in UNITED, and between the ER in AMERICA. This example is evenly worn with uniform olive-gray patina. Delicate lilac and golden undertones are evident in the margins, mainly near the dentils. The borders are sharply defined, although some weakness is noted amid the central reverse stars. Eye appeal is pleasing as a date or variety coin.
