Details. BD-5, High R.5. The variety is confirmed by a wide
date with the last 9 recut on the lower right, the left foot of the
last A in AMERICA touching the claw, with the right foot touching
the branch. John Dannreuther and Harry Bass, Jr., in their early
U.S. gold coin reference book, estimate 25 to 35 known of this
variety. Yellow-gold surfaces reveal fine hairlines under
magnification. Generally well struck, with no significant contact
marks. Some light adjustment marks are noted along the right
border. Prospective bidders should not be intimidated by the light
cleaning.(Registry values: P4)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25NT, PCGS# 98081, GSID# 8801)
