    Description

Choice AU 1800 Half Eagle, BD-2

1800 $5 AU55 PCGS. CAC. Breen-6438, BD-2, High R.3. Bass-Dannreuther Die State Obverse b / Reverse b. The Blunt 1 obverse shows no flag on the 1, the 1 8 spaced rather more widely than on the BD-1 and the star further from the bust. Light die clashes appear on both sides, notably below the bust and in front of the neck and face on the obverse, and in the stars on the reverse. There are, however, no obvious die cracks that characterize later states. Copious luster remains on this Choice AU specimen, with no visible adjustment marks on either side. An excellent representative of this turn-of-the-19th-century issue.(Registry values: P2) (NGC ID# 25NW, PCGS# 8082)

It goes without saying that after the auction when we had a chance to have dinner together and get to know each other it even made it a better experience for me. I look forward to getting more involved with Heritage in the Future.
