    Description

Choice XF 1800 Half Eagle, Breen 1-B Variety

1800 $5 XF45 PCGS. Breen-6438, B. 1-B, Miller-42, R.4. Five die marriages were used to coin 1800 Half Eagles, four of which share a common obverse die. The reverse die is unique to this variety, however, and is distinguished by a repunched rightmost star. This sharply struck piece has light wear on the breast feathers and on the highpoints of Liberty's hair and shoulder, but the surfaces do not possess any noteworthy abrasions. There is no shortage of luster within the legends or devices.
