    1803/2 BD-1 Half Eagle, MS63
    Exceptional Surface Preservation
    Terminal Reverse Die State

1803/2 $5 BD-1, R.4, MS63 PCGS. Bass-Dannreuther Die State c/e, terminal, with a rim cud above the UN in UNITED. Die cracks run through the TED, as well as down from the rim to the left of OF, toward the shield and olive branch. A bisecting crack runs from the rim below the arrows, through the I in PLURIBUS, toward the rim above the E in STATES. Soft, satiny mint luster yields no evidence of wear on this coin, and abrasions are limited. Rich peach and green-gold hues adorn each side. Sharpness spans the peripheral stars, and the central devices display equally strong definition. An exceptional example of this overdate issue, and a remarkably appealing type coin for the grade.
