Description
1807 Bust Right Half Eagle, BD-6, XF45
Exceptionally Lustrous and Appealing
1807 $5 Bust Right, BD-6, High R.4, XF45 NGC.
Bass-Dannreuther Die State a/b, unlapped dies. BD-6 is a scarce
variety with fewer than 100 pieces believed known in all grades.
The luster and eye appeal of this Choice XF example far surpass
expectations for the grade. The strike is sharp and even. Light
high-point wear appears on the obverse, but the protected portions
of the fields retain luminous mint luster. The reverse is
completely aglow in original fiery-orange mint luster. A finer
XF-graded example may not exist. From The Twelve Oaks Collection.
