1810 $5 Large Date, Large 5, BD-4, R.2 -- Altered Surfaces -- PCGS Genuine. XF Details. Bass-Dannreuther Die State a/a. Even, white-gold surfaces have been subdued somewhat by the altered surfaces. There are, however, no significant abrasions, and wear is light. Four die marriages represent four distinct types for the 1810 half eagle, with the present Large Date, Large 5 the most common, followed by the Small Date, Tall 5. The other two types, the Small Date, Small 5 and Large Date, Small 5, are very rare, rated R.6 and High R.7, respectively.
