    1810 BD-4 Half Eagle, MS61
Large Date, Large 5, Ideal for Type

1810 $5 Large Date, Large 5, BD-4, R.2, MS61 PCGS. Bass-Dannreuther Die State c/b. A vertical die crack extends between 81 up toward Liberty's clasp. John Dannreuther estimates the Large Date, Large 5 BD-4 die pair was used to strike between 75% to 90% of the 100,287 half eagles minted in 1810. Consequently, this variety represents one of the most collectible half eagles struck from 1795 to 1834 (Motto).

This Uncirculated Draped Bust Left type coin showcases bright yellow-gold surfaces and good design detail. Softness is virtually limited to the shield and adjacent feathers. A few faint hairlines exist in the otherwise smooth and lustrous fields. Reddish tan accents on the high points add eye appeal.
