1810 BD-4 Half Eagle, MS64
Large Date, Large 5

1810 $5 Large Date, Large 5, BD-4, R.2, MS64 PCGS. Bass-Dannreuther Die State a/a, struck from perfect dies showing no die cracks or clash marks. John Reich's design was introduced in 1807 and continued without modification through 1812. This type is available more frequently than the later Capped Head design that began in 1813. This exceptional Choice Mint State half eagle has frosty and fully lustrous yellow-gold surfaces with delicate peripheral orange toning. An outstanding example of quality that is rarely exceeded, despite its status as one of the most plentiful early gold varieties. Large Date, Large 5 Population: 38 in 64 (2 in 64+), 5 finer (11/21).
