Description

1810 BD-4 Half Eagle, XF40
Large Date, Large 5

1810 $5 Large Date, Large 5, BD-4, R.2, XF40 NGC. Bass-Dannreuther Die State c/b with a short, straight die crack extending down from the curl between the 8 and second 1 of the date. Light clash marks are evident on both sides, particularly on the obverse. This pleasing piece shows myriad surface marks as expected for the grade. Hints of rose toning appear on the green-gold surfaces. As a plentiful variety in the context of early half eagles, this example is ideal for a type set.
