    Description

    Choice BU 1810 Half Eagle, B. 1-A

1810 $5 Large Date, Large 5 MS64 PCGS. B. 1-A, Miller-109, R.2. An elegant near-Gem, both sides are frosty in texture with original green-gold undertones and orange-gold patina. The central obverse reveals a few light adjustment marks (as struck), but Liberty's portrait, the star centrils, and the denticles are all sharply defined. The reverse impression is not as well executed, but all features save for the eagle's neck and inner left (facing) wing are suitably bold. B. 1-A of the 1810 delivery is the most common Half Eagle of the Capped Bust Left type, but, of course, examples are rare when viewed in the wider context of U.S. numismatics. (NGC ID# BFXP, PCGS# 8108)
