    1811 Half Eagle, Near-Mint
    Small 5, BD-2

    1811 $5 Small 5 AU58 PCGS. BD-2, R.3. Bass-Dannreuther Die State d/a. All dates (though not all varieties) of John Reich's Capped Bust Left design are collectible. The 1811 is no exception, though it is certainly scarcer than the 1807 or 1810. The 1811 has two die marriages, and each are separately listed in the Guide Book due to different sized punches used to form the 5 in the denomination. This butter-gold representative displays ample luster and is refreshingly void of abrasions. Light rub on the claws and chin confirms momentary circulation.
