    Description

Mint State 1811 Small Eagle $5 Gold

1811 $5 Small 5 MS60 NGC. Breen-6464, B. 1-B, R.4. Two die varieties of 1811 half eagles are known, and they are easily distinguished by the size of the 5 in the denomination. Examples of this variety are plentiful, with about 200 surviving in all grades. The population may be even higher. Sharply struck with lovely honey-gold color. The surfaces have minor abrasions which keep the grade at a modest level. This is a lovely example that will surely please the date or type collector.
