1811 $5 Tall 5, BD-1, High R.3, AU58 NGC. Bass-Dannreuther Die State c/e. Heavy reverse clash marks are noted with a light crack below OF through the left wing to AMER. The Tall 5 is believed to be slightly scarcer than the only other die marriage for the date, the BD-2 Small 5. Both varieties are separately listed in the Guide Book, although prices are similar across all grades. The present sharply impressed example has peach-gold luster and green-gold fields with scattered field marks.
