Description
Scarce Choice AU 1813 Half Eagle
1813 $5 AU55 NGC. Breen-6467, BD-1, R.2. Perhaps no series is more difficult to assemble by date than the Capped Head Left half eagle. The 1813 is the first year of the type, and is also among the few comparatively available dates. Thus, it is under heavy demand from gold type set collectors. This partly lustrous Choice AU representative has a hint of wear on the forehead, hair, and cap, but there are no obtrusive marks, and the light green-gold toning is original. From The Menlo Park Collection.(Registry values: P2)
