Description
1813 BD-1 Half Eagle, AU53 CAC
Exceptional First Year Type
1813 $5 BD-1, R.2, AU53 PCGS. CAC. Bass-Dannreuther Die
State b/b. Clash marks on the obverse can be observed as diagonal
lines from the shield through BERT of LIBERTY. This is an
exceptional specimen, with rich amber gold toning that is very
attractive. Only minuscule contact marks that are less in both size
and severity than usually seen at the AU53 grade level. A solid
strike for the issue with good definition of the portrait and
eagle. Frosty luster radiates over much of the coin. Well-deserved
CAC endorsement for this outstanding first year of issue Capped
Head half eagle. From The Bob Hastings Collection.
