1813 BD-1 Half Eagle, Choice AU
    Still-Lustrous and Well-Detailed

1813 $5 BD-1, R.2, AU55 PCGS. Bass-Dannreuther Die State b/b. Clashed at LIBERTY and within the shield. The BD-1 variety is recognized by the placement of the first S in STATES over the right side of E in the ribbon. This well-detailed Choice AU specimen shows just a touch of softness on the lower left stars. The surfaces are brightly lustrous, and a short scratch in the left obverse field is the only mark of note.
