    Description

1813 Capped Head Left Five, Pleasing AU 58 Condition

1813 $5 AU 58 NGC. B. 1-A, Miller-119, R.5. This issue's reputation as the most common half eagle produced between 1813 and 1834 should not deceive collectors into going light on their bids. None of the Capped Head Left half eagles are easy to obtain and every auction appearance is an occasion of note. The wear is minimal and barely discernible to the naked eye. Both sides are bright with green-gold coloration and relatively few abrasions for a circulated gold coin of this size. Nicely defined with pleasing overall eye appeal.
From the Dr. Jeff Hosford Collection. (NGC ID# 25PM, PCGS# 8116)

    Weight: 8.75 grams

    Metal: 91.67% Gold, 8.33% Copper
