    Description

Rare and Desirable 1825/1 Half Eagle

1825/1 $5 --Repaired, Cleaned--ANACS. AU Details, Net VF30. B. 2-A, Miller-149, R.6. All 1825 Half Eagles are overdates. The 1825/4 is extremely rare, with just two examples known today. The 1825/1 is the only collectible variety of the year, although it is also quite rare in its own right. Survivors in any condition are under tremendous demand. This example has bold details, and is well struck except on the stars. However, the obverse has been harshly cleaned, while the reverse has been tooled and whizzed. This variety is absent from even the best early gold collections, and it will provide an affordable addition. (NGC ID# BFY6, PCGS# 8133)

    Weight: 8.75 grams

    Metal: 91.67% Gold, 8.33% Copper
