Description

1857 25C Quarter PR66 NGC. Deeply reflective fields shine brightly through the golden-brown central toning that turns blue around the margins. As with all proofs from this year, the mintage started out low and the number of survivors today is even less. Perhaps as few as 15-20 proof quarters were struck in 1857. This is one of the finest and is tied with two other PR66 coins at NGC (11/12).
