Description
1883 Proof Set, All PCGS Certified
All Three Nickel Types Included
1883 Nine-Piece Proof Set PCGS. Included in this proof set
are:Indian Cent PR62 Brown PCGS. CAC. Both sides are deep brown, and there a carbon spot is located in the reverse field below the N in CENT.
Three Cent Nickel PR64 PCGS. CAC. Light streaky golden-gray toning is seen over each side, and is sufficiently deep to partially subdue the mirrored flash in the fields. Essentially contact-free.
Shield Nickel PR65 PCGS. CAC. The three different types of nickels struck in this year contribute to the fascination of a proof set from 1883. Pale golden-lilac patina is seen over each side of this moderately reflective proof. Fully struck.
Liberty Nickel No CENTS PR65 Cameo PCGS. CAC. This one-year type is needed by collectors of both proof and Uncirculated type sets. This cameo example has hazy pastel patina over each side with deeply reflective mirrors in the fields.
Liberty Nickel With CENTS PR65 PCGS. CAC. Slight hazy patina in the fields only mildly affects the bright reflectivity of the proof mirrors. Attractive surfaces.
Seated Dime PR66 PCGS. CAC. Each side is deeply toned in shades of gray-rose and cobalt-blue. The reverse is a bit lighter than the obverse, and thus the fields are noticeably brighter on that side.
Seated Quarter PR64 PCGS. CAC. Deep blue-gray and pale rose toning covers each side and partially subdues the mirrors in the fields. A grade-limiting staple scratch arcs across the left part of the obverse and another is seen below the base of the rock.
Seated Half PR65 PCGS. This low-mintage issue has nicely reflective fields, but the mirrored flash is partially subdued by the depth of the blue-gray and rose toning that covers each side. Only the top of Liberty's head shows any weakness of strike.
Morgan Dollar PR65 PCGS. Like the other coins in this set, the dollar has similar blue-gray and rose toning over each side. The fields, especially those on the reverse, flash brightly when held beneath a light. A long, very shallow area of planchet porosity is seen in the left obverse field.(Registry values: N491)
