    Description

Outstanding 1908 Proof Set, PR66-68 Quality

A splendid, Gem and Superb Gem Quality 1908 Proof Set includes a deluxe, felt lined, wooden presentation box. Included are:

1908 Cent PR66 Red PCGS. The glistening, golden tinged surfaces reveal a swirl of orange-red color over the lower right obverse. Fully struck, fully lustrous, and smooth from rim to rim.

1908 Nickel PR66 PCGS. The seemingly flawless surfaces exhibit a swirl of olive-tan patina over the upper obverse and a blush of lavender-tan color through the center of the reverse. This is an unquestionably original Gem with deep, glassy fields and a razor sharp strike.

1908 Dime PR68 PCGS. One of the two finest specimens known to PCGS (3/02), this uniformly reflective example is originally toned in overlapping swirls of olive, orange-gold, tan, lavender, and silver-gray colors that are somewhat brighter on the obverse. Every feature is fully struck.

1908 Quarter PR68 PCGS. An impressive coin from a technical standpoint, the pristine surfaces are also noteworthy for rich, virtually even olive-charcoal toning. There are swirls of cobalt-blue, orange, and lavender patina over the obverse portrait.

1908 Half Dollar PR67 PCGS. The otherwise olive-charcoal toning yields to sea-green and lavender accents over the upper reverse. There is also a swirl of near-brilliance over the lower left obverse, and a bisecting streak of brilliance crosses Liberty's cap. We can find no handling marks that would call into question the Superb Gem designation.
