Description

Well Matched 1903 Proof Set

1903 1C Cent PR 66 Red NGC. Richly colored in crimson-orange shades with pleasingly reflective surfaces and a few isolated swirls of milky patination. Both sides are crisply struck and essentially distraction-free.

1903 Nickel PR 67 PCGS. Blushes of ice-blue and hazy-golden iridescence adorn both sides of this sharply impressed specimen. The surfaces are uniformly mirrored with nary a hairline or contact mark to report.

1903 Dime PR 66 PCGS. This is a coin for the collector who values originality. Rich charcoal-lavender colors envelop both sides, but the crisp striking definition is readily apparent at all angles.

1903 Quarter PR 65 PCGS. Deep charcoal and tan shades blanket the reverse of this carefully preserved specimen. The obverse is, however, noticeably brighter with fully appreciable reflectivity in the fields.

1903 Half PR 65 NGC. This is an interesting piece from the standpoint of toning. The outward appearance of both sides is one of deep charcoal patina. There is, however, a crown of apricot iridescence over and before Liberty's forehead, and splashes of champagne and electric-blue shades dance over the reverse portrait.

1903 Dollar PR 66 PCGS. Evenly toned in charcoal-copper hues with isolated areas of lighter color on both sides. The underlying proof qualities are concealed at most angles, but the strike is full and neither side reveals any distracting blemishes.
