    1871 Proof Set

An ANACS-certified 1871 Proof Set, as follows:

1871 Cent PR65 Red and Brown ANACS. Fully struck with mottled medium brown patina over otherwise orange-red surfaces. There are no individually mentionable distractions.

1871 Two Cent Piece PR65 Red and Brown ANACS. Doubled Die Obverse. Both sides display a 50-50 mix of original mint luster and warm olive-brown toning. Sharply struck and expectantly abrasion-free for the assigned grade.

1871 Three Cent Silver PR64 ANACS. Fully reflective, the surfaces are veiled in charcoal-gray patina. The sharply impressed features do not reveal any overly conspicuous blemishes.

1871 Three Cent Nickel PR63 ANACS. This coin is sharply defined in most areas with moderately bright fields and a few wispy carbon flecks.

1871 Nickel PR65 Cameo ANACS. Well frosted over the devices, the fields are bright and glassy with a little light iridescence. A smooth Gem.

1871 Half Dime PR64 ANACS. Both sides are originally toned in steel-gray patina that yields to softer lilac-gray hues in the obverse field. Modest reflectivity is seen at a few angles.

1871 Dime PR64 ANACS. Both sides are well struck in all but a few areas with rich charcoal-gray toning over modestly reflective features.

1871 Quarter PR63 Obverse Cameo ANACS. Richly toned with a sharp strike and a few grade-limiting contact marks in the right obverse field.

1871 Half Dollar PR63 ANACS. Like the other silver coins in this proof set, both sides of this Half are toned in charcoal-gray patina. Fully struck with no outwardly distracting hairlines.

1871 Silver Dollar PR63 ANACS. Whispers of lilac-gray patina interrupt the otherwise charcoal-gray toning scheme of this wholly original proof. The sharp strike is free of criticism.
