    Description

    1802/1 Quarter Eagle Rarity

1802/1 $2 1/2 --Ex: Jewelry, Tooled--ANACS. AU Details, Net VF 20. Despite the impairments, this coin is an important survivor from an original mintage of just 3,035 pieces. Ironically, the 1802/1 is the second most common issue in the Capped Bust Right quarter eagle series. In addition to a glossy texture, the surfaces are curiously smooth for a circulated gold coin, especially in the obverse field. A few adjustment marks (as produced) are noted over the reverse devices. On the other hand, the focal features are suitably outlined, and this coin's relatively affordable price should make it attractive to circulated type collectors. (NGC ID# 25F6, PCGS# 7650)

    Weight: 4.37 grams

    Metal: 91.67% Gold, 8.33% Copper
