Description

    Near-Mint 1805 Two and a Half, BD-1
    Just 1,781 Pieces Minted

1805 $2 1/2 AU58 PCGS. Breen-6121, BD-1, R.4. Bass-Dannreuther Die State c/b with a nearly imperceptible die crack joining the 805 in the date. This briefly circulated near-Mint representative retains considerable peach-red luster. The centers show incompleteness, especially on the eagle's neck, but the surfaces are refreshingly unabraded aside from a few trivial marks on the field between the vertical shield stripes. Dannreuther estimates the rarity of the 1804 as R.4, but likely duplications among third-party data accumulated over a quarter-century suggest the date may be closer to R.5. Population: 12 in 58, 7 finer (11/11).(Registry values: P6) (NGC ID# BFVV, PCGS# 7653)

    Weight: 4.37 grams

    Metal: 91.67% Gold, 8.33% Copper
