Description
PCI 1805 AU 53. Repaired Rim. A nice looking example of this rare early type. Heraldic Eagle two and a halves are a very scarce and overlooked series, and while the 1805 has been accorded "common" status, it is really very rare when lifted outside the context of the series. The above mentioned repair on the rim is not visible and we must assume it refers to some problem on the edge of the coin, rather than the small area of pinscratching on the lower reverse. Well struck on the obverse with some of the usual softness on the reverse and showing prooflike fields which are characteristic for most Heraldic Eagle coins. Trends $8,350.
