Description
1807 Quarter Eagle, BD-1, AU Details
Ideal Bust Right Type Coin
1807 $2 1/2 BD-1, R.3 -- Obverse Repaired -- NGC Details.
AU. Ex: Hilt Collection. Bass-Dannreuther Die State a/b. This
is the most often seen variety of this type, though its status as
the only variety of the 1807 issue makes it highly popular among
date and type collectors alike. Early quarters are in general
scarcer than their half eagle counterparts, largely because demand
for the denomination was comparatively negligible. This piece is
boldly and evenly struck, with bright yellow-gold color. Close
examination with a loupe reveals some expertly done repair work in
the right obverse field, though the unaided eye finds nothing
obtrusive.From The Liberty USA Collection.
