    Description

    1807 Quarter Eagle, BD-1, XF40
Last Date of Capped Bust Right Design

1807 $2 1/2 XF40 PCGS. Breen-6124, BD-1, R.3. The low mintage (6,812 pieces) of this final year Capped Bust Right issue exemplifies the fact that the Quarter Eagle was not a favored denomination within early 19th century financial circles. It not only has the highest production total of the design, but is also the most obtainable, making it a very popular coin with gold type collectors. This lustrous representative displays normal mushiness on the obverse, while being rather well struck on the reverse. Attractive orange accents dominate both sides. Housed in a green label holder. Population: 12 in 40, 95 finer (8/11).
Ex: FUN Signature Auction (Heritage, 1/2004), lot 7361, realized $8,050.
From The Eagle Harbor Collection, Part Three.

The outcome of the auction far exceeded my best hopes and would not likely have been as successful with out your sound advice on where to present the coin and how best to set the reserve. Throughout the process your availability , support and knowledge were exceptional.
