Description

1807 MS 61 NGC. The most commonly encountered date in the Heraldic series of quarter eagles, but the term "common" must be understood in the context of early gold as only 6,812 pieces were struck of this date. This piece has bright surfaces with rich orange-gold color, and shows the usual softness of detail in the centers. A few minor field marks are noted on the obverse. A few adjustment marks are also noted in the center of the reverse.
