Description
Affordable 1807 Capped Bust Right Quarter Eagle
1807 $2 1/2 VF 20 PCGS. A well balanced example that shows more wear than is normally seen on early gold, perhaps this coin was used as a pocket piece by a wealthy individual. A few small indentations are noted to the right of the portrait, but the sandy-gold surfaces are highlighted in coppery patina and are otherwise quite attractive. The most available Capped Bust Right quarter eagle despite a paltry original mintage of only 6,812 pieces.Coin Index Numbers: (PCGS# 7656, GSID# 8216)
