    AU Details 1825 Quarter Eagle

1825 $2 1/2 --Tooled, Whizzed--ANACS. AU Details, Net XF40. Breen-6128, Type of Bass-3021, R.4. The 1825 Quarter Eagle has three die marriages that divide the low mintage of 4,434 pieces. Bass-3021, as referenced in the Harry W. Bass, Jr. Museum Sylloge, is noted for a high 2 in the date and a denomination that is well centered below the fletchings and olive stem. This is a crisp olive-gold example that has the usual softness of strike on the eagle's shield. The left obverse field near the portrait is carefully tooled, and the fields are minutely granular.
